God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him. We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in seastorm and earthquake, Before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains. Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God -of-Angel-Armies protects us. River fountains splash joy, cooling God’s city, this sacred haunt of the Most High. God lives here, the streets are safe, God at your service from crack of dawn. Godless nations rant and rave, kings and kingdoms threaten, but Earth does anything he says. Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God -of-Angel-Armies protects us. Attention, all! See the marvels of God ! He plants flowers and trees all over the earth, Bans war from pole to pole, breaks all the weapons across his knee. “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.” Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God -of-Angel-Armies protects us. (Psalm 46:1-11 MSG)
God wanted to free his people from slavery. They were being tourchered, beaten, murderd. He could have chosen anyone to free them. He could have sent many angels to free them. But instead he chose Moses. He was a murderer, stutterer. He was running from his past hopeing it wouldn't one up again. God could have chosen anyone...but he picked Moses, flaws and all. Because he is always with us. We don't have to measure up because when we are his totally, our skills or the lack there of doesn't matter because he is with us.
It's not about us, it's All about Jesus.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 NLT)
