Time

Time is almost up. I see all the evil happening all over the world and wonder how long will the lord tarry? It also makes me think am I adding to his pain? Am I driving the nails? I don't want to add to his pain, or drive the nails.

God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. Interlude “I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists! Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’” For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist. It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall. For the L ord holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs. But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.” (Psalms 75:2-10 NLT)

Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory. And he will send out his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the world —from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven. “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that his return is very near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene before all these things take place. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear. “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert ! “The coming of the Son of Man can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. When he left home, he gave each of his slaves instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return. You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak. Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!” (Mark 13: 26-37 NLT)

After his death Jesus showed the apostles a lot of convincing evidence that he was alive. For 40 days he appeared to them and talked with them about the kingdom of God. Once, while he was meeting with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait there for what the Father had promised. Jesus said to them, “I’ve told you what the Father promises: John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized by the Holy Spirit.” So when the apostles came together, they asked him, “Lord, is this the time when you’re going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” Jesus told them, “You don’t need to know about times or periods that the Father has determined by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you. Then you will be my witnesses to testify about me in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After he had said this, he was taken to heaven. A cloud hid him so that they could no longer see him. They were staring into the sky as he departed. Suddenly, two men in white clothes stood near them. They asked, “Why are you men from Galilee standing here looking at the sky? Jesus, who was taken from you to heaven, will come back in the same way that you saw him go to heaven.” (Acts 1:3-11 GWT)

How long will he tarry...how long will we keep driving the nails...how long will we shake our fist in defiance instead of trusting and leaning on him...I for one am going to lean and trust on him...I have nothing alone...he is my all in all! I, with his help, will be his light to this dark world. All I am is his!

Holy, holy, holy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujQJQnxTFjc&feature=youtube_gdata_player

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsiDukXIeVY

Holy holy holy is the lord god almighty. I can't fathom the love the father has for us. That he would send his son, to become human, suffer, and die for me when I was yet a sinner. I have had the two above songs on my heart for the past few days. I would ask all who will read this post to find a quiet place and listen to both songs. I pray that all who would have ears to hear would hear the good news that Jesus died and saved us all from sin. He died so we wouldn't have to die eternally. I pray for all people that they would have an awakening this Easter.

Jesus was without sin...blameless. he did nothing wrong, but was beaten, nailed and died on the cross....but there was no grave that could hold him! He has defeated the grave! Praise be to god!

pursuit

In this life there are many things we pursue.  Some of them are of god...most are not.  Search me oh god.  If there are things i am in pursuit of that aren't of you, guide me away from them.  i will pursue you, and only you father.  i want only your presence.  I don't want to be where you are not.

Psalm 88

A song; a psalm by Korah’s descendants; for the choir director; according to mahalath leannoth;[a] a maskil by Heman the Ezrahite.

Lord God, my savior,
I cry out to you during the day and at night.

Turn your ear to hear my cries.
My soul is filled with troubles,
and my life comes closer to the grave.

I am like a man without any strength—

like those who have been killed and lie in graves,
like those whom you no longer remember,
who are cut off from your power.
You have put me in the bottom of the pit—in deep, dark places.
Your rage lies heavily on me.
You make all your waves pound on me. Selah
You have taken my friends far away from me.
You made me disgusting to them.
I’m shut in, and I can’t get out.

All day long I call out to you, O Lord.
I stretch out my hands to you in prayer.
10 Will you perform miracles for those who are dead?
Will the spirits of the dead rise and give thanks to you?Selah
11 Will anyone tell about your mercy in Sheol
or about your faithfulness in Abaddon?
12 Will anyone know about your miracles in that dark place
or about your righteousness in the place where forgotten people live?
13 I cry out to you for help, O Lord,
and in the morning my prayer will come into your presence.
14 Why do you reject my soul, O Lord?
Why do you hide your face from me?
15 Ever since I was young, I have been suffering and near death.
I have endured your terrors, and now I am in despair.[b]
16 Your burning anger has swept over me.
    Your terrors have destroyed me.
17 They swirl around me all day long like water.
They surround me on all sides.
18 You have taken my loved ones and friends far away from me.
    Darkness is my only friend![c]

Father you gave it all on calvalry...all to you i owe!

Psalm 91

GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Psalm 91

Whoever lives under the shelter of the Most High
will remain in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord,
You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.”
He is the one who will rescue you from hunters’ traps
    and from deadly plagues.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge.
His truth is your shield and armor.
You do not need to fear
    terrors of the night,
arrows that fly during the day,
plagues that roam the dark,
    epidemics that strike at noon.

even though a thousand may fall dead beside you
or ten thousand at your right side.
You only have to look with your eyes
to see the punishment of wicked people.
You, O Lord, are my refuge!
You have made the Most High your home.
10 No harm will come to you.
No sickness will come near your house.
11 He will put his angels in charge of you
to protect you in all your ways.
12 They will carry you in their hands
so that you never hit your foot against a rock.
13 You will step on lions and cobras.
You will trample young lions and snakes.
14 Because you love me, I will rescue you.
I will protect you because you know my name.
15 When you call to me, I will answer you.
I will be with you when you are in trouble.
I will save you and honor you.
16 I will satisfy you with a long life.
I will show you how I will save you.

The following song has been on my heart for the past few days. I often wonder if all i pursue is of god.  i pray that if there are things that aren't of god...that he would help me see!  If there are things in people who read this post i pray that you would help them see where their pursuits lie.

what are you pursuing?

open me

shawn mcdonald - open me

I invite all who read this blog to click on the above link, and close your eyes and listen.  The lyrics are beautiful.  They are my prayer.  I want to know him more, i want to abide in him.  I want him to open me and pour all of himself into me.

John 15

GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Jesus, the True Vine

15 Then Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father takes care of the vineyard. He removes every one of my branches that doesn’t produce fruit. He also prunes every branch that does produce fruit to make it produce more fruit.
“You are already clean[a] because of what I have told you. Live in me, and I will live in you. A branch cannot produce any fruit by itself. It has to stay attached to the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit unless you live in me.
“I am the vine. You are the branches. Those who live in me while I live in them will produce a lot of fruit. But you can’t produce anything without me. Whoever doesn’t live in me is thrown away like a branch and dries up. Branches like this are gathered, thrown into a fire, and burned. If you live in me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours. You give glory to my Father when you produce a lot of fruit and therefore show that you are my disciples.

Romans 8

GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

God’s Spirit Makes Us His Children

So those who are believers in Christ Jesus can no longer be condemned. The standards of the Spirit, who gives life through Christ Jesus, have set you free from the standards of sin and death. It is impossible to do what God’s standards demand because of the weakness our human nature has. But God sent his Son to have a human nature as sinners have and to pay for sin. That way God condemned sin in our corrupt nature. Therefore, we, who do not live by our corrupt nature but by our spiritual nature, are able to meet God’s standards in Moses’ Teachings.
Those who live by the corrupt nature have the corrupt nature’s attitude. But those who live by the spiritual nature have the spiritual nature’s attitude. The corrupt nature’s attitude leads to death. But the spiritual nature’s attitude leads to life and peace. This is so because the corrupt nature has a hostile attitude toward God. It refuses to place itself under the authority of God’s standards because it can’t. Those who are under the control of the corrupt nature can’t please God. But if God’s Spirit lives in you, you are under the control of your spiritual nature, not your corrupt nature.

where does your heart lie?

I often wonder where peoples hearts are at.  Are they hurt  and wounded, are they angry and bitter.  are they simply disillusioned with life...wondering if what they see is all their is. I would imagine there are those who think the life of a christian is boring.  At one point in my life i could have cared less about god and what he had for me.  I was determined to go it on my own.  It really wasn't till I was blessed with twin daughters that I finally realized that i couldn't do this all on my own.  I needed his guidance and love if i was going to get this fatherhood thing down.  My heart lies with my children.  All i am and all i do is for them.  do i still get frustrated with them?  absolutely...but now god helps me see things from his point of view.  Do i always get it right?  nope...but i am working on it and praying about it.

prayer changes everything!  I used to not pray much at all.  almsot a year ago now I went on a retreat with the men of my local church.  While on this retreat i felt god speaking to me that he was glad I was leaning on and trusting him to lead me...but he wanted more.  He wanted me to be better in my prayer life.  I have been going to tuesday morning mens prayer at my local church since retreat of last year.  Now in my travels i will often drive along and outloud i will pray.  Often it is what ever is on my heart.

1 Thessalonians 5
New Living Translation (NLT)
17 Never stop praying

If you would like me to pray for you I invite you to send me an email and i will add you to my prayer list.

Here's My Heart - David Crowder

calm in the storm

Often our lives seem to mirror the stormy seas in the movie the perfect storm.  The harbor seems calm, but the further out to sea we get the stormier the sea becomes.  There are times where it may appear that our boat may capsize.  There are some that go out to sea...and never find their way back to safe harbor.  How is the sea in your life?  Are you in safe harbor or are you lost at sea?

The following lyrics are my prayer.  I invite you to click on the link and close your eyes and listen.  The image  i opened this entry with is chaos.  Without christ in our lives the sea of our life often seems like it did in the perfect storm.  the waves won't always be calm with christ in your life...but you will have someone to hold onto when life seems to be out of control.

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. (Exodus 33:14)

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
[x6]

I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

Have you ever asked him to be your savior?   some will say...i am far beyond gods help.  some will say if he knew the sins i have commited he wouldn't forgive me.  It's never too late, and there is never a sin he can't and won't forgive.  If you are tired of running in circles, tired of fighting the roaring waves alone...I invite you to pray the following prayer:

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.

Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Amen.

Abide

Who would, after seeking the King's palace, be content to stand in the door, when he is invited in to dwell in the King's presence, and share with Him in all the glory of His royal life? Oh, let us enter in and abide, and enjoy to the full all the rich supply His wondrous love hath prepared for us!

And yet I fear that there are many who have indeed come to Jesus, and who yet have mournfully to confess that they know but little of this blessed abiding in Him. With some the reason is, that they never fully understood that this was the meaning of the Saviour's call. With others, that though they heard the word, they did not know that such a life of abiding fellowship was possible, and indeed within their reach. Others will say that, though they did believe that such a life was possible, and seek after it, they have never yet succeeded discovering the secret of its attainment. And others, again, alas! will confess that it is their own unfaithfulness that has kept them from the enjoyment of the blessing. When the Saviour would have kept them, they were not found ready to stay; they were not prepared to give up everything, and always, only, wholly to abide in Jesus.

Passage taken from abide in Christ, by Andrew murry.

I read this passage last night, I haven't been able to move past it yet. I imagine a man or woman standing at heavens gates. They have been invited in...but instead of coming in...they would rather stand on the outside. Jesus has invited us all in...but there are many who would rather stand on the outside and look in.

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

John15:4

Will you remain, abide, in him? would you rather stand at the gate and look in? As for myself I want nothing more than to abide in him, and him in me. I want all I can have, and all he can and will give me.

Lead me holy spirit

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) - Hillsong United (Zion)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8mZpGj29qw

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders.
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever you would call me.
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my saviour.

I was listening to songs on youtube and this one caught me. I wonder how often we are really willing to let the spirit lead us? Are we the glove trying to lead the hand? Are we willing to be the glove, and let Jesus be the hand? Are we really willing to go and do what ever he calls us to?

dancing

Tuesday of this week my little girls turn 5.  I remember the day they were born like it was yesterday.  7:11pm and 7:12pm they were born.  I love them to no end.  I know god feels the same way, not only about them, but all of us.

watch the following link.  I almost always tear up when i hear it.  To me it represents the love god has poured out on us.  He loves us so much that he sent his one and only son to be torchered and to die on the cross.  To most parents this would be painful to see your child being scourged and beaten.  Most would to anything to make the pain for their child stop.  God loved all of us so much that he couldn't stop the pain and suffering his son was going through for us.

Has your clock struck midnight?  I pray that if you are living away from gods love, that you would pray for him to help you with your danceing.  I pray that all who need to repent would...before the clock strikes midnight.  I pray that the light of the world would shine on all who will read this.

amen

all he gave

2 Timothy 1:9

New Living Translation (NLT)
For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.

Jesus has provided all we need. He calls us to live holy lives.  some might think that this is not possible in this day and time.  Nonsense!  Everything is possible with Jesus  and the help of the holy spirit. It seems to me that sometimes people take for granted all the love and grace he has given to us.  All i have he has given me.  I am truly thankful for 2 beautiful children, my wife, my family.  Some people take for granted the fact he has given all to us...all to him we owe.

I am grateful

open our eyes

Micah 7:7-10

New Living Translation (NLT)
As for me, I look to the Lord for help.
I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me.
Do not gloat over me, my enemies!
For though I fall, I will rise again.
Though I sit in darkness,
the Lord will be my light.
I will be patient as the Lord punishes me,
for I have sinned against him.
But after that, he will take up my case
and give me justice for all I have suffered from my enemies.
The Lord will bring me into the light,
and I will see his righteousness.
10 Then my enemies will see that the Lord is on my side.
They will be ashamed that they taunted me, saying,
“So where is the Lord
    that God of yours?”
With my own eyes I will see their downfall;
they will be trampled like mud in the streets.

Matthew 7:4-5

New Living Translation (NLT)
How can you think of saying to your friend,[a] ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

Mark 8:25

New Living Translation (NLT)
25 Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.

probably one of my favorite songs is With everything by hillsong.  The first couple versus are,
 open our eyes
to see the things that make your heart cry,
to be the church that you would desire
your light to be seen
break down our pride

I have been pondering on the first three words, open our eyes. How many people will never truly have their eyes open?  How many people we as Christians know, go around living with blinders on. Walking in sin, walking in darkness?  Some of us Christians are the same way we go around living with blinders on...never really seeing the love Jesus has shone down on us when he gave his life on calvalry.  will we let him open our eyes?  or will we hide behind the walls we have all build up or will we let him come with the wrecking ball and smash  down those walls?

This past weekend i was battling a sore throat, the enemy was trying to use it to get me down.  He tried for 3 days...all three days i prayed for help, i let my walls down, i let the great healer do his thing.  I am here to tell you he delivered!  The evil one didn't win because I realized i couldn't do it on my own...I needed the great physician to heal me.

Father i pray that all the people i know that still are living behind their own walls...would get to a place where they would surrender it all to you.  As you know i plan to go to mens retreat this year. I will be in prayer for all those people i know to surrender, to stop running, to stop putting up walls.

amen

Warfare

The evil one will use any and all at his disposal. Sickness, business, working lots, tv, drug / substance abuse...the list can go on and on. We are constantly on the spiritual battlefield. How are we to survive?

Read ephesians 6:10-20

Put on gods armor...but most of all...PRAY!! For when we do not only does god hear us...but it terrifies the devil. It frustrates his plan, he wants us to be enslaved to the things of this world. When we pray we are telling him...my hope and desires are not of this world. The evil one thrives in the dark places of our lives...don't let him have places to hide. We all have problems and issues...but I know the one who fixes all problems!

Read philippians 1:9-11

I pray that all who still have dark places for Satan to hide in, will humble themselves and pray. God wants to help us...I pray we let him rein in us!

Nails

He was beaten, scourged, and nailed to the cross. Condemned to die so I might live. While I was yet a sinner...he died for me. There are no amount of words, no thank you that could ever be enough.

There is a series coming up on history channel on march 3rd. I am on my knees praying that people will watch. I pray that people will be changed. I pray that this series will be a precursor to billy graham my hope comming in the fall.

Would you rather take the nails, or let him take the nails for you? Would you rather continue living in darkness, or live in the light. I for one want to be surrounded by his light.
